DIY: Photo garland

Summer break is ending, on Monday we're going back to school. That means that we'll have to sacrifice all our spare time to making homework, studying for tests and put all our creativity in weird projects (like 'turn this book into a modern painting' or 'write a poem about scotch tape'. Anyone else gets these tasks?) As I was thinking about that, I decided that in my last week of freedom I had to make a DIY. Since I had some photo's that needed a nice spot in my room, I made a photo garland.

Nail inspiration of the month.

I've been doing the Nails of the month post for three months now and I'm already failing. Once a loser without perseverance, always a loser without perseverance, I guess. Haha. I had quite a busy month with a lot of schoolwork and just normal work, so I didn't really put any effort in my nails. If I painted them at all, I basically used a plain red or blue, so not really interesting to see, really. As I refuse to admit that I have failed my resolution of posting a monthly nails of the month, I'll do one with a twist. I figured I'd show you guys the nicest nail arts I stumbled upon on the interwebz this month.

My summer of '13

Summer

Hello everyone!
In class, some teachers ask us about our vacation. And that is also what I’m going to tell you about today! Summer is one of the best seasons for so many reasons, but number one: THE FREEDOM! I enjoyed going to sleep after midnight, sleep late in the morning, eat breakfast and lunch together and spend time in our garden sunbathing, reading and listening to music. I had a couple of days like this and it made me feel as free as a bird. I’ll miss those days the most. Now school has begun, I’ll feel guilty every time I am lazy or waste my time.

A summer of travels, fun and love

Source
Hello guys!

Since I went back to school yesterday, the summer break is officially over and that kind of takes away the summer feeling that I love so much. In the summer, I always feel free and more vivant than any other time of the year. (That's probably because I don't have to go to school for most of the summer.)

This summer was definitely the best so far. I had so much fun and great memories were made. I travelled quite a lot, got even closer with my awesome boyfriend, saw my friends a lot and… I started this blog with one of my best friends in the world! (How cute of me, calling you that, H.) I want to remember this summer as long as possible, so I thought, let's blog about it!

Festival: Feest In Het Park 2013

Hi!

After we tasted Rock Werchter for a day (read the post here), we just couldn't get enough of the festivals and went to another one! This time it was a smaller one with about 12 000 visiters a day.
Somehow...that felt cosy.

We arrived the last day with the sounds of Sir Yes Sir, a Belgian music group. Because it was a really sunny day, we didn't watched the performance inside but enjoyed it while walking around to get drinks and stuff. Their genre is indierock. For us, it's music we'd add to our playlist.

Rock Werchter 2013: sun, songs and sweat

I'm a bit late with this, since the festival was last week, but I went to Rock Werchter for one day and I wanted to share my experience anyway.

Rock Werchter is one of the biggest pop- and rock festivals in the world. It takes place in a little Belgian town called Werchter and it's just 4 days of fun and music. Due to circumstances I was only able to go on Friday, but besides that it was an awesome experience. The weather was nice and the music also, so what else do you need, eh?

I was there with friends and I saw a lot less artists than I wanted. (I missed The Lumineers and Ben Howard.) But I'm going to give you a quick review of some of the concerts that I have attended.

Summer, we salute you!

source: http://www.tumblr.com/tagged/summer%20break
They made us wait for a really long time, but now it seems like summer has finally arrived and I hope it isn't planning to leave soon. Summer is absolutely my all-time favourite season. Maybe that's because my birthday is in July, or maybe because I don't have to go to school. But I believe the main reason is the special summer vibe that hangs in the atmosphere. You can just feel, hear, see and smell summer everywhere. You hear the birds whistling cheerfully and you can see little baby birds leaving their nests. You see butterflies flying from flower to flower and a cat trying to catch them. you smell the wonderful flowers in the garden and you see nature reviving finally. If all is good and -especially in Belgium- you are very lucky, the weather gets better as well. I might be the only one, but I think one of the best feelings in the world is to be able to ride a bike in just a top and shorts and feeling the wind on you skin, but still not having cold. So dear summer, please stay as long as you can and delight us with your awesome and hot sunbeams.
